About
Picturing Places transforms meaningful places into minimalist visual art.
Picturing Places is an independent creative project exploring the intersection of geography, memory, design, and technology.
I started Picturing Places because we become attached to places.
The city where we grew up. The island we return to every summer. The neighborhood where we met someone important. The places we miss.
Yet most maps are designed to help us navigate, not remember.
Picturing Places exists to transform geography into something emotional, personal, and worth keeping.
Places shape us more than we realize.
The goal is not to reproduce geography perfectly.
The goal is to reveal what makes a place feel meaningful.
Today, Picturing Places focuses on digital artworks and wallpapers. In time, some places may also become prints, framed objects, editions, or other physical artifacts.
Picturing Places is a personal project, supported by Picturing Bits .
